Educational program on 'Antibiotic Stewardship and Current Issues of Clinical Microbiology'

Date: 3 – 4 November 2012
Venue: Auditorium, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi

Dear Colleague

Managing infections is now becoming a challenge in a health care setup, because of the change of microbial flora and its resistance, not only in the healthcare associated infections but also in the infection coming in the healthcare facility from the community. You would agree that a joint approach towards understanding these issues and realizing the right way of managing and diagnosing these infections is the need of the hour.

On behalf of national executive of HISI, it is our pleasure to invite you to be a part of this new initiative taken by HISI to promote the concept of Antimicrobial Stewardship and resistance surveillance. This program is jointly organized with the International Society of Chemotherapy – Infection and Cancer (ISC) and the Asia Pacific Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infection (APSCMI). This initiative has support through an educational grant by Becton Dickinson (BD) – Diagnostic System.

The two day program (3 – 4 November 2012), has sessions by well reputed international and national faculty in the field of Clinical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Infection Prevention and Control.

We are sure you would seize this opportunity as one of the steps to further improve the standard of care in managing infections in your hospital. As this is an issue of national interest, the event carries a fee waiver for attending delegates.

Kindly send your names at the earliest to Dr Leena Mendiratta (CME Co-Coordinator) at e-mail leena_m@apollohospitals.com. As there are limited seats, these shall be filled on a first-come first served basis.

We look forwards to meet you at the CME.

With best regards

II International Conference on Antimicrobial Research (ICAR2012)
  Date: 21-23 November 2012
  Venue: Lisbon (Portugal)

ICAR2012 shall be a forum for the presentation, exchange and dissemination of information and experiences on anti-microbe strategies, in biotic or abiotic environments, in planktonic or adhered states, in biologically specific or unespecific ways, in vitro or in vivo, in a general context marked by the threat posed by the increasing antimicrobial resistance of pathogenic microorganisms. "Anti" is here taken in a wide sense as "against cell cycle, adhesion, or communication", when harmful for the human health, industry or economy (infectious diseases, chemotherapy, food, biomedicine, agriculture, livestock, biotechnology, water systems, etc). It will cover topics on antimicrobial resistance, (early) microbial and resistance detection, enhancement of innate defences against pathogens, as well as methods & techniques.
