Joining HISI
You can apply for HISI membership directly on our website. Visit the “Become a Member” page, fill in your details, and complete the registration form. Once your registration and payment are confirmed, you’ll receive your Member ID and can log in to access member resources.
HISI offers two types of memberships. Life Membership is offered to doctors with MD, MCh or DM qualifications; MBBS with administrative experience in healthcare settings; nursing personnel with working experience in infection control, quality or administration; CSSD managers or administrators. Relevant documentation is necessary. Associate Membership is offered to MBBS doctors not eligible for Life Membership, MBBS students, Nursing students, OT/CSSD technicians. They should provide necessary documentation.
Associate members cannot take part in Society elections and do not have voting rights. However, they can participate in various educational and academic activities organised by HISI or its affiliates.
HISI Life Membership is a one-time fee of ₹6,500. There are no recurring renewal charges — once you’re a Life Member, your membership remains active without any expiration. Associate Membership is a one-time fee of ₹3,500, also valid for life time.
Yes. Associate members, who subsequently acquire qualifications and become eligible for Life Membership can provide documentary proof, pay balance fee, and become Life Members.
HISI members get access to the JPSIC journal (free full-text), eligibility to attend and participate in HISICON and chapter-level CMEs/webinars, networking with infection prevention and control professionals across India, eligibility to participate in HISI elections, access to educational resources and guidelines, and a listing in the HISI Membership Directory.
Yes. All membership payments are processed through Razorpay, a secure and widely used payment gateway in India. Your card and payment details are never stored on the HISI website.
All applications are liable to verification of credentials and supporting documents submitted by applicants. In case any discrepancy is detected, or if the credentials and/or documents provided are found to be incorrect, misleading or fraudulent, the membership shall be cancelled immediately. No refunds shall be made in respect of membership fees paid by members who are debarred or whose membership has been cancelled on account of incorrect or fraudulent information.
Account & Login
If you were a HISI member before our new website launched, use the “Find My Member ID” tool — search by your name, email, or mobile number to retrieve your Member ID.
Go to the member login page and use the “Forgot Password” link to set up your password for the first time using your registered email address. Once set, you can log in with your Member ID and password.
Click “Forgot Password” on the member login page. A password reset link will be sent to your registered email address — follow the link to set a new password.
Visit the Membership Directory page and search by your name, Member ID, or city to confirm your listing.
Member Resources
JPSIC (Journal of Patient Safety and Infection Control) is HISI’s official quarterly journal, indexed in Scopus, EMBASE, and DOAJ. HISI members get free full-text access — visit the Journal page for details and the link to the journal portal.
National conferences (HISICON) and CMEs/webinars are listed on the Events page. Chapter-specific events, presentations, and newsletters are available on each city chapter’s page.

Yes. You cannot log in or create a password if your mobile number isn’t updated in the HISI database. If it isn’t updated, please email your mobile number along with your Membership No., Name, and Email address to office@hisindia.org.

The election process has been online since 2019. Only Life members have voting rights. Your profile must be up to date with HISI’s database. Eligibility requirements apply for joining the Executive Committee — watch the website for election notifications.
